finally, i get to post something on this blog.
finally, i went out with my holy girls! well, it was just me, May and Jennie Jo. we had dinner at greenbelt 3, not at one of those hoity-toity restaurants, but at the foodcourt. i cannot pay for comfortable dining. not yet, at least. it's funny how me and my friends have fine taste and yet we cannot fathom to pay for it just yet. we can laugh all we want in the food court anyway. no need to display ourselves in one of them trendy bars... even if i faux-hawked my hair and wore gold bling. heck, i even took the train to makati in my 3-inch stilettos. scrappy bohemians, we are. i keep on wondering if we will ever get to the point when we will want to go to places to be seen. granted, it has its own appeal - i recognize it and do think i'd like it. it's just that i never really have fun whenever i go dancing or schmoozing. maybe i can't dance OR schmooze... hmm... nah, i can dance well enough. schmooze, i'm not so sure. i find so many environments hostile, but i still doubt that maybe i'm hostile myself. or just plain shy. heeheehee... and so the original Tanya emerges as we enter Peligro: the shy little girl in a pink sweater version of Mitch Kramer's classic Adidas shirt in Dazed and Confused, faux-hawked and frosted, shoes soaked from the rain and thrilled by our geographical feat of finding the bar after one glance at the citiatlas. Such a geek. =) Nikki, friend and Freeway Jam frontman, politely welcomed us before excusing himself for a pre-set smoke. Another slightly hostile place where he couldn't even get us a table. We contented ourselves with sitting across the stage on uncomfortable jagermeister cylindrical bean bags like little kindergarten students (who cares, right?). when they started playing, JJo was disarmed to hear people singing along. Honestly, i wish i could too. I need a history lesson here!!! classic rock and blues, anyone?!?! Old soul trapped in a young body. I missed out on a lot of history, music or otherwise. And i hate the fact that however old one is, an older person can come up to you and tell you "rock is dead" and it's partly true. well, maybe except if you're older than 60-65. Aaahh, i wish i could drag myself (and someone else) to many of their gigs. like May said, it's been a long time since she watched a good live band. yes, too long. too many months in between.
I guess it boils down to what i told my friend Rolan: I need a life. I need to be able to make, carry out and share my own plans, car or no car, lover or no lover.
