the finer points of alcohol

WAHOO! two nights within 5 days that i've been tipsy in this alcohol tolerance training from karl. now i know why ais just loved to do it everyday. hee hee hee hic!

1) last friday, during the magic madness/ultimate 80's party, i learned that the key to avoiding schmoozing is to bring a date. aside from having someone familiar around, foreign people stay away from you. after lite dinner, the first set, two san mig lites and upon the start of the rain, i was already tipsy. so we all dragged ourselves into krocodile grill and after clumsily finishing some more food (which i should have ate earlier) and washing down some water, we headed home... where i washed down more water.

2) yesterday karl took me to a philippine free press poetry reading at conspiracy where i had a cervesa negra and one and a half glasses of vodka mudshake. adult milo... yummm... so of course, that made all the old school stuff better. there were good ones that i missed because poetry's hard to understand orally and my attention span's pretty short. i enjoyed performances by joel, a certain neil (he's a huge guy who looks like ringo starr's caricature) and of course, lourd, who rhymed about fat elvis crossing kamias - yeah! i apparently didn't down enough water afterwards because today my tummy's acidic.

in any case, the moral of the story is to only be tipsy in good company. it's very enjoyable and ridiculous. case in point: bukid trip november 2003 - gooood; 70's bistro december 2003 - baaaaad. poochers should know the difference.

hehe, that is so true. it's fun to get drunk/tipsy with good people. i hope you never get stuck with someone whose horns only come out in the presence of alcohol or someone who's reality show fodder. wait, the latter is actually okay, as long as it's not you.
