holy kamote, i just love quezon city!!! quezon city day most of all. it's a city that doesn't have qualms about stopping work to enjoy the ultimate suburban heaven. as many of you know, i have been a QC girl all my life. i was born here and raised here. all my schools are here, and my first job is here too. not that the first job/company is very praiseworthy. it is however notable for its convenience. so here's to US golden boy manuel quezon, the perfect balance between patriot and imperialist.
so anyway, i'm celebrating QC day by sleeping in, packing for my baguio/pampanga trip, watching dvd's with karl and then glamming up for a night at the opera. naks. it's actually rockestra at folk arts theatre, but hey, i'll bet no one's moshing and it's a frou frou place, so it's the perfect opportunity to wear high heels, a skirt or dress, or a hat. hooray for QC! (even if i'm going to manila). i'm glad i'll be able to watch rica play, finally. i hope i see her too, though i'm pretty sure she'll be, as she says, "busy as a bee, happy as a bug"
pre-celebrations include having dinner with reev last night to swap music while having dinner at panciteria lido at west ave. he so graciously paid for dinner to make up for the obvious discrepancy of me giving him 2 putumayo cd's while he left his classical-electronica trip at his bathroom. so in total, early festivities only cost me the longest cab ride home with a novice taxi driver. shite.
to further confound my lazy, vacationing mind, my boss suddenly told me i could bring karl along to the baguio/pampanga trip. inasmuch as i would love some consolation during the weekend, the whole idea is kinda fishy. it appears unprofessional to drag along a companion to such a contained trip, with hardly any time for leisure. on principle, whether boss or employee, bringing someone along is acceptable as long as it's at one's own expense, without distraction from task at hand, and with the permission of boss. this, however, receiving an offer from the boss smells really fishy... don't you think? anyway, i dunno why i had to debate this whole principle with karl since he doesn't want to go anyway. we'll just have to continue festivities on monday, i guess.
