frivolous errands

so, i'm a non-professional driver.

on a whim, on a self-induced illusion of the need to avoid bureaucratic hassle, i decide to absent myself to get a dose of old school government transaction with almost legal fixers. The case: the last two days of validity for my learner's permit, and i'm convinced having it expire will make my life a living hell when i can actually bring a car already. so, despite the workload, and despite the fact that i don't drive, and that i have my period and there's a piss-in-a-cup drug test, i haul my ass to my old driving school a-1 and ask for help.

i ride to the san juan lto with 7 strangers. i piss, read an eye chart, get myself weighed, wait, get my photogaph taken, wait, take an exam (english or tagalog? don't let the choice fool you, all a-1 students take it in tagalog, so why don't you?), wait, and finally after 5 hours, a magic plastic card is produced and i get to drive a private car.

two days till i leave for cebu and there are still many ends to tie up..
